Shique Jewellery is a new company, started in January 2006. Awi, an Indonesian national, lives and works in Bali. He has a French degree from Jakarta University and has worked as a guide, teacher, consular official and finally for a jewelry company in Bali. He designs the pieces himself. They are handcrafted and made by local Indonesian silversmiths. Because of the close working relationship between Awi and the silversmiths, there is always complete quality control of the finished jewellery. He studied with EuroBali in 2005 on their ‘Small and Medium Businesses’ training course. At the end of the year he was given the opportunity, through a European investor, to set up his own company and Shique Jewellery was born. Only 925 silver is used in the production of the jewellery, including clasps, hooks, chains and settings. All the many and varied gemstones are bought within South East Asia. The company does business with retail and wholesale customers.
