Investing based on Carbon Footprint Ranking

Carbon Footprint Ranking allows retail investors to take environmental issues into account when choosing an investment fund.

Fund managers are now able to reduce the environmental impact of their investments without sacrificing financial performance by using footprint analysis.

Trucost has made this possible by releasing the first Carbon Footprint Ranking of UK Investment Funds.

Main points:

  • The impact of moving a £10,000 investment from the worst fund to the best is 15 tonnes of CO2 per annum.
  • The average UK Household emits 6 tonnes of co2 per annum.
  • The carbon footprint of every investment fund worldwide varies dramatically.
  • The worst fund has a footprint more than five times the best.
  • Not all socially responsible investment funds have the best carbon footprint.
  • Some mainstream funds have low carbon footprints.
  • There is no correlation between financial performance of funds and their carbon footprint.
Trucost has constructed a carbon Optimised Portfolio, which can match the financial performance of a benchmark Index while reducing the carbon Footprint by 41%.

This is an exciting development, as Carbon Footprint analysis will inevitably become the norm for all mainstream investments as climate change moves up the political agenda. In time broadsheets such as the FT will have Carbon Footprint figures alongside investment statistics.

Neutralise your travel's carbon emmissions

economie is offering delgates at eco6 the opportunity to offset their travel's carbon emmissions using a service from Noveris.

The carbon credits used to carbon neutralise clients activities are those generated by the Floresteca plantations in which QUADRIS invests on behalf of its shareholders. These credits differ from the credits offered by other providers of this service, in that they are Verified Emission Reductions that have been verified by the German quality assurance agency TÜV in accordance with GHG 031 of the Kyotol Protocol.

NOVERIS are a new company providing environmentally aware individuals and organisations the opportunity to carbon neutralise their activities (car use, air travel and life style).

Damit sich Nachhaltigkeit auszahlt!
Ensure that sustainabilty pays

This is a conference being held in Zürich on FRIDAY 15th SEPTEMBER in German!

Worum geht es?

Die Herausforderung für Unternehmen: Unternehmen sollen sozialer und umweltfreundlicher handeln, dh. nachhaltiger.

Zunehmend fordern dies Kunden, Medien, Behörden, NGO’s.
